In room 5 on Tuesday morning, Katherin Perez joins her mother, Silvia, in a big smile.
Following successful surgeries on Monday afternoon, Katherin enjoyed sips of Gatorade before bedtime. “She gulped it right down,” said Silvia.
Dr. Zapata, who performed a bilateral myringotomy and a frenuloplasty on Katherin, later asked the two-year-old to “saca la lengua.” The girl promptly did so, sticking out her tongue to a roomful of laughter and applause.
