In Central Texas, a young patient’s journey to better health began with a visit to Austin Smiles’ Free Dental Day. This marked his first oral exam in two years, as he had been uninsured and unable to access regular dental care. When Dr. Guerra examined him, it was discovered that he had several cavities requiring urgent attention.

With the support of generous donors, the patient received a crucial office procedure valued at $5,000 to clear the infection and restore his oral health. The collaboration between Kids Tooth Team and Austin Smiles didn’t end there. Thanks to the ongoing partnership, this patient and many others will have access to annual dental exams, sealants, and fluoride treatments to keep his permanent teeth healthy and ensure a brighter future.

Dental Day is a special initiative hosted by Austin Smiles in collaboration with Kids Tooth Team Outreach, providing essential dental care for children, teens, and adults born with cleft lip and palate in Central Texas.
