Maddie Vargas

Medical Coordinator

Madeleine Vargas is a highly experienced Certified Surgical Technologist whose career reflects nearly three decades of precision, compassion, and unwavering dedication to patient care. A graduate of NYU Langone Health in 1997, she earned her associate degree in Surgical Technology and holds certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).

Madeleine has built a reputation for excellence across a wide spectrum of surgical specialties.

In every environment, she has been a critical force behind the scenes—maintaining sterile fields, anticipating surgeons’ needs, and ensuring that every procedure runs with precision and safety.

Her career journey brought her to Austin, Texas in 2008, where she became an integral part of major healthcare networks including Ascension Seton and HCA Healthcare. Beyond her clinical role, Madeleine demonstrated her passion for mentorship and community by volunteering in Mock Surgery programs, helping to train and prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals.

In 2014, driven by both her love for travel and her deep commitment to helping others, Madeleine took a bold leap into travel healthcare. As a traveling CST, she worked across the country, adapting to diverse hospital systems, embracing new challenges, and expanding her skill set. These experiences not only sharpened her clinical expertise but also gave her a unique perspective on healthcare delivery nationwide. Along the way, she built lasting relationships, gained cultural insight, and created unforgettable memories that continue to shape her professional journey.

Now, Madeleine is setting her sights on becoming a Medical Coordinator at Austin Smiles. After years on the frontlines of surgical care, she has developed a deep understanding of what it takes to ensure seamless patient experiences and efficient clinical operations. She is driven by a desire to bridge communication between medical teams, streamline processes, and advocate for both patients and healthcare providers. In addition, she is passionate about participating in medical mission trips, where she can extend her skills beyond traditional clinical settings to serve underserved communities around the world. Her goal is to combine leadership, organization, and compassion to improve healthcare access both locally and globally.

For Madeleine, healthcare has never been just a career, it’s a calling. Her journey is a testament to growth, resilience, and a lifelong commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
