Major: Double Major in Health Studies and Latin American, Latino, and Iberian Studies

I chose to spend my summer with Austin Smiles because I am able to combine my two majors of Health Studies and Spanish along with my future career as a dentist. When researching for what to do the summer before my senior year, Austin Smiles seemed like the perfect opportunity. Providing equitable dental care is exactly what I want to do in my future career, so I was fascinated by Austin Smiles’ mission trips to help children with cleft lips and palates, their work with Dell Children’s and Texas Children’s, and the events they host for families throughout the year to bring a strong sense of community. I am so excited to join the Austin Smiles team and learn more about such an impactful organization.
