Dr. Stanley Eckert is a practicing anesthesiologist in Austin and has been with the Austin Anesthesiology Group for 34 years. He also works for the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) Ambulatory Surgery Division as a Regional Medical Director for the Eastern United States. A veteran of approximately 20 Austin Smiles mission trips to Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, and Nicaragua, serving at different times as the anesthesia team leader and the team mission leader, Stan has served as a board member for about 15 years.

He is active with Austin Smiles, both as a volunteer and board member, because of the great opportunity to improve the lives of affected children and families and to positively impact the perception citizens of other countries have of Americans. Stan is married to Brenda and is the proud father of two daughters, one of whom has been on two Austin Smiles mission trips. “I think Austin Smiles the most worthwhile organization with which I have ever been involved.”
