Jennifer Brown currently works as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with the General Surgery and Trauma Service at Dell Children’s Medical Center and has been with this team since January 2023.

She began her nursing career in 2001 as an LVN. She received an Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 2005 from Temple College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2012 from UT Austin. Over her nursing career, she has worked in many settings, including caring for adults and children in the acute care setting, serving as a case manager for children and adults requiring home health care, and spending many years as a private duty nurse for children with special needs. She completed her master’s degree and a Family Nurse Practitioner certification in 2017 from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and worked in Convenient and Express Care. She obtained a Post Master’s Certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from UT Austin in 2023.

Jenn lives in Austin with her husband and daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, volunteering, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She was introduced to Austin Smiles by a friend in 2012 and has been blessed to volunteer as a PACU nurse on many trips since.
