Chinenye Ogbonnah

MD/MBA Candidate
Dell Medical School/McCombs School of Business

Chinenye Ogbonnah was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and raised in Houston, TX. She earned her B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University in 2020 and is currently pursuing an MD/MBA at Dell Medical School and McCombs School of Business, with plans to graduate in 2026. She aspires to specialize in Craniofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, focusing on cleft lip/palate repair, global health, trauma, and burn care. Deeply committed to addressing health disparities, Chinenye is passionate about improving access to high-quality surgical care for underserved communities, both in the United States and in low-resource settings worldwide. She aims to integrate clinical expertise, community engagement, and healthcare administration to develop sustainable solutions that bridge gaps in care. Serving on the board aligns with her long-term vision of supporting reconstructive surgery patients beyond the operating room, ensuring they receive comprehensive support within their communities. Introduced to Austin Smiles by her mentor, Dr. Sarah Frommer, Chinenye is honored to serve as the organization’s first junior board member.
